Biography

In 1768, he received a bequest in his father's will:

to son Edward Short, 50 acres of land called Greffins Choice with my [testator’s] dwelling plantation, also 50 acres of land called Hazard. One enslaved boy named Moses. He is to pay his brother Isack Short £10 when Isack is nineteen.

In 1786, Edward's mother left him an Iron pot and hooks, and a large chest in her will.
