Biography
Mary Ann was baptised on 8 October 1826 in Kingswood, Gloucestershire by parents Daniel and Susanna. Daniel was a hatter. [1]
On 12 July 1845 Mary Ann married Henry Colton Chowings in Bristol. Henry was an Engraver, his father, also Henry Colton was a Tailor. Mary Ann's father Daniel was a Hatter. [2]
In 1851 Mary and her son Henry are with Mary's grandmother Isaac and Martha Francomb in Mangotsfield. She is listed as married. [3]
Later that year Mary and and baby Henry sailed to New York with her Chowings in laws, Henry and Susanna. [4] In 1855 the family, Henry, Mary A and children Emily and Alfred, are living in Buffalo, New York. Next door are the in-laws, Henry and Susanna. [5]
