The frequently seen christening or birth date seen of 25 Mar 1642 is incorrect. It is the christening for an Adam Short who is son of Henry and Elizabeth Short.[1][2] There is a Walberton, Sussex christening record for a Henry Short, son of Henry and Elizabeth, who was born 1647 (see Research Notes) and a Henry, son of Thomas and Agnes, who was born 1641.
Henry is believed to have passed away in 1675 based upon an index of probate records at Sussex: Chichester - Calendar of Wills in the Consistory Court of the Bishop of Chichester, 1482-1800[3] However, there is as yet no documentation that this record is that of this Henry.
If christened as a child, the Henry of 1647 would have been only 17 years of age at the documented birth of Miriam. Young for the period but not unseen.

DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships with Henry by comparing test results with other carriers of his Y-chromosome or his mother's mitochondrial DNA.
However, there are no known yDNA or mtDNA test-takers in his direct paternal or maternal line.
It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with Henry:
Short-654 and Short-604 appear to represent the same person because: I'm pretty sure Henry Short is not a real person, and the wikigeneologist who made Henry confused him with Adam.
