Biography

Mary was born in 1834 in Noble County, Ohio. She was the daughter of John Shriver and Lovicia Smith.

Mary was married on December 12, 1869, in Cedar County, Iowa, to Daniel Myers.

She passed away in 1888.

1834 - Birth - Noble County, Ohio

1850 - United States Federal Census - In 1850, the Shrivers were living in Springfield township, Cedar County, Iowa. The household consisted of John Shriver, 47, born about 1803 in Pennsylvania; Lovica Shriver, 46, born about 1804 in Ohio; Hiram Shriver, 20, born about 1830 in Ohio; Mary Shriver, 16, born about 1834 in Ohio; John Shriver, 14, born about 1836 in Ohio and Jacob Shriver, 10, born about 1840 in Illinois.[1]

1860 - United States Federal Census - In 1860, the Shriver household consisted of John Shriver, 57, born about 1803 in Pennsylvania; Lovica Shriver, 56, born about 1804 in Ohio; Mary Shriver, 22, born about 1838 in Ohio; Jacob Shriver, 21, born about 1839 in Illinois; and John J. Shriver, 24, born about 1836 in Ohio.[2]

December 12, 1869 - Marriage - Married to Daniel G. Myers in Cedar County, Iowa.[3]

1870 - United States Federal Census - In 1870, Daniel D. Myers, 47, was living in Massillon, Cedar County, Iowa, with his wife, Mary Myers, 36, and his mother, Catherine Myers, 68. Daniel was farming.[4]

1880 - United States Federal Census - In 1880, Daniel G. Myers, 58, is living in Massillon, Cedar County, Iowa, with his wife, Mary, 46, and their children, Minnie l. Myers, 9, and Susan Myers, 6, as well as his mother, Catherine, 77. Also with the family are Joseph Coosy, 20, and Charles Shecheck, 17. Myers is farming and Coosy and Shecheck are working on the Myers farm.[5]
