A BIOGRAPHY OF WILLIAM SCOTT SHRIVER, by Larry Overmire (great-nephew), August 2008:

William Scott Schriver was born in Clear Creek Township, Ashland County, Ohio, on October 7, 1845, the fourth of six sons of David and Rebecca (Scott) Shriver.

On September 3, 1872, at the age of 27, he married Tirzah LoDean Burns in a double wedding with his brother Albert Norton who married Tirjah's sister Mary Belle. William Schriver was a farmer. He and Tirjah lived in and near Mt. Ayr, Ringold County, Iowa for 45 years before retiring to Ashland, Ohio. They had no children.

On June 19, 1917, William Schriver passed away at the age of 71 and was buried in Ashland Cemetery.
