Biography

William Sill was born in County Durham, England.

William was born in Houghton le Spring, County Durham, England, in 1871. He was the son of William Sill and Jane Prest. He was baptized on November 29, 1871, in Houghton le Spring. He was enumerated in the 1881 and 1891 census residing with his family first in Elvet, then Haswell, Durham. In 1891, he stated he was nineteen, single, and a "Coal Miner".

William married Alice Hesler in Kelloe, Durham, 1895. The marriage was registered in the third quarter in Easington. The couple would have at least five children.

William passed away in 1956. His death was registered in the fourth quarter in Durham Northern.
