Biography

Rebecca Simcock was born in Overton County, Tennessee in 1815. Her tombstone says (apparently in error) that she was born in 1810. She died in Overton County in December 1867 and is buried with her husband and their daughter Martha Samantha (Gore) Wilson at Shilo Cemetery in Windle, Tennessee.

1850 US Federal Census

In 1850, Rebecca Gore, 35 b. Virginia, was living with six children b. Tennessee: Martha, 14; Felps, 12; Isaac, 11; Claiborn, 10; Overton, 3; and William, 1. Rebecca owned real estate worth $400. (Elizabeth Gord is enumerated on the same page)[1]
