Biography

Anna was born between about 1848-55 in Canada West, which later became Ontario. Her name was found variously as "Anna Maria Simmons" and "Hannah Marie Simmons".

She first married a man named Thomas Smith, who died before 1879, when she remarried to James Clazie at Thurlow Township, Ontario. This 2nd marriage certificate estimated her age as 30, so born about 1852.

She was shown in the 1891 Canada census at Thurlow as "Anna M. Clazie" and estimated her age as 36, so born about 1855.

She passed away in 1896 at Thurlow from heart disease. The death certificate showed that she was age 48, so born about 1848 at Thurlow Township. ^[1]
