Biography

John, son of John and Mercy (Pabodie) Simmons, was born at Duxbury, MA on February 22, 1670. He married first Abigail Richmond. She died three months after they married. He married second Susanna Tracy, who is the mother of his children. John died at Duxbury before August 6, 1739, the date his wife was appointed administratrix of his estate.[1]

Event: Will Written. 18 APR 1733. Will Recorded. 12 MAY 1740.

Religion: Elder of Independent or Congregational "Circular" Church of Charles Town.

Occupation: Bricklayer.

Buried MAR 1737. SC

His inventory was taken on 1 October 1739 in Plymouth.[2]

In 1740, his estate settlement was set to his widow Susanna, and his four children, John Simmons (eldest son), Ruth Simmons, Joell Simmons, and Leah Simmons. [3]

There's a discrepancy between the location of death in the data field and the biography. Did he die in South Carolina or Massachusetts? If SC, could someone locate the source for that info, please?
