1907 CENSUS OF CONFEDERATE VETERANS No 290 Full Name; SIMMONS, JOHN JAMES Present Post Office; Springville Ala Was born on Dec 5, 1846 at Sulphur Springs in the county of St Clair in the state of Ala; first entered the service as private on Dec 1863 at Talladega Ala in the 1st Ala State Reserve afterward 62nd Ala Co E and continued until captured at Fort Blakely paroled from Ship Island on 5th May 1865.
