Research Notes
The fact that William named his son Trevanion points him out as a supporter of the radical MP for Dover, John Trevanion. The town of Dover was divided in 1769. Although John Trevanion was a radical and a supporter of John Wilkes, he had also inherited slaves in the West Indies. His supporters in Dover were known as the 'Whites',
William was baptized at St Mary the Virgin, Dover, on 11 Feb 1748.
William & Sarah did NOT have a daughter Edwina - that is a mis-transcription by Familysearch - the original register clearly shows twin sons Peter and Edward baptised together in 1774.
