Hi George, and welcome to WikiTree! You mentioned your family/ancestors in England. I wanted to let you know we have a great project that focuses on the UK here called United Kingdom Project It would be a great place for you to get involved now you have settled into WikiTree.
You may find some of your ancestors are already on WikiTree and the people in the United Kingdom Project will be happy to help you in any way they can.
Thank you so much for joining WikiTree.
Good luck with your research in 2015.
Welcome, I'm Mary, a Mentor. Our goal is to build a collaborative tree with just one profile per person. Please make sure to avoid Duplicates when adding a profile.
Adding DOB, DOD, locations, and Sources/references attached to each person helps all.
If you encounter ancestors already on WikiTree ( less than 200 years), contact the Profile Manager for trusted access.
Don't forget to Head over to the G2G forum. and take a minute to introduce yourself in the Tree House or ask a question in any of the other categories. There's also a brickwall tag in the G2G forum: for that "special" ancestor who is eluding you.
You are now a member of the WikiTree Community! Please remember that we are trying to build one Collaborative Global Family Tree which means only one profile per person. It is important to ensure that no duplicates are created and profiles are properly sourced.
To help you get started, check out an introductory WikiTree video that a member created. For member benefits, see our Community Members page.
We also have a Mentor Team who will be glad to answer questions and help you with any specific problems.
Hi, I am researching the Simmons family that started in Northall, UK (early 1800s), then on to Chigwell, Essex, UK, and then all over the world. One generation moved to Pennsylvania, had two children, one my grandfather, then moved back to the UK in 1867. Glad to share any information I have with anyone barking up the same tree.
