He wrote a letter to his daughter "Josie" in 1913 on company letterhead. The company name was "Talty Bros. Carpenters and Cabinet Makers" They were located at 2240 Third Ave at 122nd St. According to the Slater's Directory of Ballinasloe in 1894, he was listed as a "Spirit Dealer, Market Square."His occupation was listed as a carpenter in the 1901 Irish Census.
