Biography
Quoted from a 2001 entry in Genealogy.com by a Mr. Darrell Cannon Henson:
"Thomas Jefferson Cannon was born in Jones County, GA according to my records to James Cannon & Sarah Middlebrooks.T.J. married Jane Simmons in Monroe Co., GA.I quote Rev. John A. Cannon: "Thomas Jefferson Cannon was the son of Sarah Middlebrooks & James Cannon. He married his first cousin Missouri Jane Simmons, the daughter of Bethiah Middlebrooks & John W. Simmons. Both Thomas & Jane were born in Monrow County, GA and spent most of their lives there.Thomas served in the War between the States. He was in Company K 53rd Regiment GA Infantry of Northern VA, The Monroe County Quitman Guards. He was wounded in Chancellorsville, VA and again at the battle of the Wilderness.Like so many other families, Thomas & Jane left the war torn South & moved to TX." Children of Thomas Jefferson & Jane Simmons Cannon: 1.John Thomas 2.Sallie 3.Robert Samuel b. 30 Apr 1862 d. 21 Sep 1889 in TX 4.Hillman Jackson b. 24 Aug 1864 d. 24 Mar 1947 in TX 5.Pollie 6.Mittie b. 22 Feb 1871 d. 31 Oct 1958 in TX 7.Allice 8.Bethiah 9.Blanche"
There is also a strong possibility that they passed Ehlers Danlos Syndrome to a number of their descendants.

However, there are no known mtDNA test-takers in her direct maternal line.
It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with Jane:
