Biography

Mary Simonds was born in Woburn, Massachusetts, on December 9, 1647, the daughter of William Simonds. ^[1]

On April 25, 1671, she married, in Concord, Massachusetts, Roger Chandler. Children, probably all born in Concord, although no birth record for the youngest has been found: ^{[2] [3]}

2. Samuel, born March 3, 1673-4; married, December 11, 1695, Dorcas Buss; died April 27, 1743.^{[3][8][9][10]}
3. Joseph, born October 7, 1678; died November 14, 1679.^[3][11][12]
4. Abigail, born May 31, 1681; married Eleazar Brown; died March 29, 1766.^[3][13]
5. Hephizibah, born ____; married 1st, April 15, 1701, Ephraim Jones, 2nd, July 11, 1711, Joseph Fletcher, 3rd ______ Stow.^[3][14][15]

Her husband Roger died on January 11, 1717, at about the age of 80. He was buried at Old Hill Burying Ground in Concord. His will names his wife, a son, Samuel Chandler, and three daughters: Mary Heald, Abigail Brown, and Hephzibah Jones. Concord, Middlesex, Massachusetts. ^[16]

DNA testing, although not conclusive, would indicate that her husband was not the son of Roger of Duxbury. ^[19]

Mary (Simonds) Chandler died in Concord on August 29, 1728, at the age of 80. ^[20]
