Biography

James Simpson's place of death is unknown at this time. He was in Gallatin Co Ky in the early 1800s where his two daughters Dorcus and Anna married Edward and Samuel Boone brothers to Sarah Boone who married James's Son Solomon Simpson.

James Simpson was the owner of Simpson's Ferry on the Kentucky River. He had a son Erasmus, who married Mary Bartlett, of Virginia and they had Foster B., Elizabeth, and Thomas.

James W., Martha, William H.H., John L., Mary, Julia, Jepha D. Foster settled in Warren Co. Mo. in 1828. Elizabeth married William B. King, and they settled in St. Charles Co. Mo. in 1830. Martha married Sidney S. Wood, who settled in St Charles Mo. in 1835. Julia married Joseph I. Carter and settled in St. Charles Mo. in 1836.

Simpson-15455 and Simpson-2771 appear to represent the same person because: Did he have two wives? This looks like it could be the same man.

I merged the two. The information I have only lists one wife (Lucy Neale); however, that doesn't mean he didn't have a second one. But according to U.S. and International Marriage Records, 1560-1900, he married Lucy Neale in 1776.

He never married Lucy Neale I had the research on her a few years ago but may never find that in my files today. I will post my findings if I do
