William and Avarilla Perkins Simpson are my 5th great grandparents. I can assure you that William Sr did not marry this 17-year-old Elizabeth Hawkins.

His son William Simpson, Jr married Elizabeth. John and Elizabeth Jones Hawkins gave their consent for her to marry. Why would they let their Elizabeth marry a man 30 years older than their daughter? The Hawkins may have been friends of the Simpson as John Hawkins was born at St George Parish, Baltimore, Maryland. Here are other marriages for THe Hawkins. William Simpson was Bondsman for Mille Hawkins m/ Richard Berry 1767, Patience Hawkins m/ William E Osborn son of Thomas Osborn and Elizabeth Simpson, Joseph Hawkins m/ Elizabeth Pickens daughter of Benjamin grandparents Richard and Mary Sherrill Pickens, There are no proven children for Elder William and Elizabeth Hawkins they are the children of William Jr and Elizabeth Hawkins. I not sure who had that bad thought and posted it online so everyone just copies if over and over!!!! I and a cousin had these records on William Jr married Elizabeth in 2003. no ages on marriage record What middle-aged man named William would use Will,,-------------- that would be the 20-year-old Will, Jr that married Elizabeth
