Thomas Simpson is the son of John Simpson who fought at the Battle of the Boyne (Scotland) them immigrated to Ireland. The identity of Thomas's mother has not ben proven. It has been suggested that Thomas was born in Enniskillen, Fermanagh, Ireland but to my knowledge this has not been proven. It is known that Thomas, along with his only wife Jean, immigrated to America about 1720 with seven children. Nathaniel and Elizabeth, who was married to a William Harper, stayed behind. Thomas is buried in Old Paxtang Graveyard. Find A Grave: Memorial #52717409 describes Thomas Simpson (1683-25 Mar 1761)'s burial as Paxton Presbyterian Churchyard, Paxtang, Lancaster, Pennsylvania - although this just may be the site of a memorial. No indication of exact date sourcing is provided.
