Peter Simpson was born on 15 June 1892 in Footscray, Victoria, Australia, son of Honorah (Clancy) Simpson and Mathew Simpson.^{[citation needed]}

He married Annie May Dempster on 26 August 1914 in Fitzroy, Victoria.^[1] Their children were:

• Robert Simpson (1915–1997)^[2]
• Peter Simpson (1917–2000)^[3]
• Noreen May Simpson (1921–2001)^[4]

Peter died on 9 May 1975 in Sunshine, Victoria, aged 82 years.^[5]
