The cathedral was filled with guests and friends of the bride and bridegroom. The Rev. L, G. Courtney, rector of St. Mary's Church, South Perth, performed the ceremony, and the service was choral.

Her filmy tulle veil was arranged off the face, held in place at either side of the head with tiny sprays of orange blossom, and fell in translucent folds down the back, forming a second transparent train. A bouquet. of white azaleas, roses, carnations and maidenhair fern completed her bridal toilette.
There were two bridesmaids, Misses Joan Drummond and Dorothy Ferguson, Both wore frocks of shrimp pink spotted tulle with full frilled skirts slightly trained with long sash effect at the back of pink taffeta and the baby bodices finished with frilled puff sleeves. On their heads they wore transparent caps of crinoline straw, with circular veils of pink tulle, and carried bouquets of shaded pink roses. Mr. Clem Lefroy was best man and Mr. W. Simpson, groomsman.
Mrs. Simpson (mother of the bride) wore a frock of maize georgette with a large bow of maize velvet, finishing the skirt at one side, and a large maize hat, and she carried a bouquet of pansies. Mrs. Barrett-Lennard (mother of the bridegroom) wore a frock of black silk marocain with black and silver brocaded coat with beige fur collar, and a small black hat, and carried a bouquet of pink roses.
After the ceremony Dr. and Mrs. Simpson entertained about 34 guests at a dinner party at the Palace Hotel. Later in the evening Mr. and Mrs. St. Aubyn Barrett-Lennard left by car for their honeymoon.
