Mary Ann Sims Cullins died during or shortly after the long migration from South Carolina to Arkansas. There are different stories. One is that her infant son was placed in a basket of wool tied to the oxbow of the covered wagon. The young widower returned to South Carolina and married another Mary Ann, then returned to Arkansas with her. [2]
