Biography

Rebecca Sims was born about 1706,[1] in Sittenbourne Parish, Richmond County, Virginia, the oldest of sixteen chlldren and four daughters of Thomas Sims (1680-1785) and Rebecca Harrelson Sims (1696-1784).

On 30 November 1725, when she was in her late teens, Rebecca married John P. Petty at St. Thomas Parish in Richmond County, Virginia].[2]

She was mentioned with her husband and their son Thomas on a land purchase in Orange County, Virginia], in 1734.[3]

About 1770, when she was in her mid-sixties, she died of unknown causes in Orange County.[4]
