Biography
Mary (Sinclair) Harris migrated from Scotland to New Zealand.
Mary Sinclair was born in 1848. She was the daughter of Alexander Sinclair and Jean Mair. Mary was baptised on 11th February 1856, in Govan, Lanarkshire, Scotland. [1]
In 1851, Mary was residing with her parents and sister at 49 Main Street, Blythswood, Lanarkshire. Mary's father was a sea steward. [2]
In 1858, Mary's father went to New Zealand aboard the ship, the Strathfieldsaye. The following year, Mary, her mother, and two siblings departed Glasgow aboard the Alpine, bound for Dunedin. [3]
On 6th April 1866, Mary married George Harris. [4]
Mary passed away on 8th November, 1934. Her death was registered in New Zealand. [5] Mary was buried in Anderson's Bay cemetery, Dunedin two days later. [6]
