Biography

John was born in 1804. He was a farmer, the son of Martynes Sitterly and Dorothy Mayer.[1]

When John was about 24 he married Elizabeth Anne (Betsey) Pangburn on 27 March 1828 in Guilderland, Albany, New York. The couple had 12 children: Nancy Jane Sitterly, Simeon Chester Sitterly, Martha Jane Sitterly, Deborah Sitterly and Daniel Sitterly.[1] Also: John , b.1838, Ann Eliza, b. 1828, Martin Henry, b. 1830, Silas White, b.1832, Joseph Pangburn, b.1834, Paul James, b.1835, Dorothy Maria, b.1839.

John Maynard Sitterly died in 1872.[1]

In the 1850 census John was in Rotterdam, Schenectady, New York, United States.[2]
