Birth

Martha was born 3 Jul 1841, Schenectady County, New York, daughter of John M Sitterly and Elizabeth Jane Pangburn. She passed away 28 May 1906, Saint Joseph, Buchanan County, Missouri. Burial Albany Rural Cemetery, Menands, Albany, New York,[1]

Marriage

Martha married William Tygert about 1860.

Found Martha on the 1900 census twice.

1900: US CENSUS: Washington Township St. Joseph city Ward 5, Buchanan, Missouri, Martha J Tygart, age 62, widowed, mother of 6, 4 living, parents from Germany. Living with her sons Chester A Tygart and William Tygart.[2]
1900: US CENSUS: Guilderland Township, Election Districts 3-4 Altamont village, Albany, New York, Martha J Schooler, age 60, married 12 years, children 6, 4 living, parents from New York. Living with her brother John Sitterly and his wife Mariah.[3]

Martha's obituary does not mention her remarrying. She is Mrs. Martha J. Tygart.
