Biography
Born in Hardy County, Virginia in 1849 or 1850. She is listed as 0 years old in the 1850 census. The August 1900 census has her born in March of 1851. Her obituary notes that she was 97 when she died, which would mean she was born in 1848. She probably didn't know when she was born. Her grave stone is carved 1852.
Sarah married Levi M Mayhew on 16 Apr 1872 in Ford County, Illinois. [1] Their children were Minnie, Kittie Lee, and Birdie (died young).
