This is a letter that Clarence Skinner, son of Daniel Sutherland Skinner and Pheobe Cronwell wrote to his uncle who was my grt grt grandfather Josiah W Skinner (1836-1913) in 1906..
There are letters dating both prior to this and after this concerning genealogy. Seemingly so there was a great interest in family history. His grandfather Chester G Skinner, son of Josiah Skinner of Berne, originally from CT father Nathaniel Skinner was one of the founding father of Sharron, CT.
Clarence Skinner, I am sure he got the information, abt his family, via his mother Phoebe Jane Cornwell and so on..There are letters and forms that Clarence sent out to various descendants asking for their family information. Some of which I have in my possession. I also know, that Clarence, has on file folder containing information filed with the Kansas Archives, as stated in a letter to my grandmother. I have spoken to the Archives and plan on obtaining copies of info that they have. I have been told that this info is in disarray. I would imagine that this may be duplication of some of the info I have now..
I know I have found, in doing genealogy research, there are mistakes along the way. Not all census records are correct either.. I have found this to be true on all sides of my families where there were, wrong ages, misspelled name or name changes and so on..
I have NOT done any real research on the Cornwell Morehouse families.. I happened to connect to them, researching the Skinner family and then finding out I had information on their part of the family in my records
