William Henry Skinner was born on February 4, 1849 in Dayton, Cattaraugus, New York, United States, son of Joseph Skinner (~1802–1861) and Margaret Frank (1810–1849).

William (27) married Ellen Margaret Johnston (20) (born on July 7, 1855 in Ashford, Cattaraugus; daughter of John Adams Johnston and Emma C (Frank) Johnston) on July 4, 1876 in Little Valley, Cattaraugus. Their children were:

William died on November 6, 1931 in Little Valley, Cattaraugus, aged 82. He was buried in Mount Hope Cemetery, West Valley, Cattaraugus County, New York.[1]
