Biography

John Skinner was born on 17 Dec 1700 in Norton, Massachusetts to John Skinner and Sara Porter.

He married Mary Blake in 1727. They would have 6 children together. He died in 1754 at the age of 53. Mary died sometime after him, but the date isn’t yet known.

(All births in Norton, Massachusetts. Baptism records are from Wrentham, Massachusetts unless otherwise noted. It is presumed that they lived in Norton but attended church in nearby Wrentham.)

8. JOHN SKINNER (3), Thomas (2) (1), born in Maiden, Mass., April 5, 1673, married Sarah about 1696. Went to Norton, Mass., with his brother Thomas. She died in Norton, Feb. 22,1747-8, he died in Wrentham, Mass., April 8, 1754.

  • 40. Abigail (4), b. Norton, Aug. 26, 1713, bp. Wrentham, Oct. 18, 1713, m. Wrentham, July 21,1741, as second wife, Ezra Smith, of Stoughton, his will proved in Boston, Mar. 30,1770.
  • 41. Jemima (4), b. Norton, Jan. 2, 1717, bp. Wrentham, April 7, 1717, m. Norton, Oct. 7, 1735, Elijah, son of William and Bethiah (Macallister) Mann; he d. April 7, 1750, in 41st year of his age.

He married, at Wrentham, 20 November 1727, Mary Blake. [2]
