Biography

This profile is part of the Skinner Name Study.

Wesley Judson was born in Indiana [1 & 2] in 1858 to John [3] and Hannah (Crooks) Skinner. Sadly he died while still a young man in 1877 [3]. He was buried in Skinner Chapel Cemetery in Cass County, Indiana.

3. The Peru Republican for March 16, 1877, page 3, carried the following: "TWELVE MILE March 9, 1877 Died at the residence of his father, Mr. John Skinner, Twelve Mile, Indiana, March 6, 1877, Wesley Judson Skinner, aged about 18 years. It becomes our painful duty to note the death of our young friend. It is the fourth bereavement Mr. Skinner had since July last. He has the deep and heartfelt sympathy of the whole community. Judie, always good, patient and submissive, was ready for that great change when mortal shall put on immorality. He united with the Christian church some time ago, and was baptized last summer. He was buried in the Twelve Mile cemetery on Thursday, services conducted by Rev. Mr. Winegardner. the father will grieve for the loss of his son, and we for the loss of one who has been schoolmate, friend and companion. Yet we will try to pass "under the rod" patiently, remembering that our loss is his gain." [Newspapers available on newspaperarchives.com.]
