Joseph Skinner was born in 1643, Windsor, Hartford, Connecticut.

He died on 31 MAY 1724 Windsor, Hartford County, Connecticut

Will

Joseph's will dated 13 Jan 1715/16 and proved 4 Aug 1724.

Named wife Mary who received the use of all his estate for her subsistence during her natural life. Others named were grandson John Grant, son of daughter Elizabeth, deceased, and his children: Joseph, John, Richard, Isaac, Mary Hanchett, Ann Rockwell. Also mentioned Willim Filby (Filly) as our father speaking of he and his wife.[1]

Research Note

Joseph Skinner's parents said to be John Skinner & Mary Loomis of Braintree, Essex, England. Joseph was one of the early settlers of Massacoe [Simsbury] in 1667. He removed to Windsor with about 40 other families after the burning of Simsbury by the Indians on 26 Mar 1676. He was admitted to Old Windsor Church on 16 Feb 1678/9 and baptized on Mar 2nd of that same year.

Please note a reliable source for an exact birth date has not been included in this profile. More research would be helpful. An abstract of his father's probate suggests he was 12 years old on 12 Oct 1651.

Skinner-412 and Skinner-915 do not represent the same person because: Not the same Joseph Skinner . different birth dates
Skinner-3000 and Skinner-915 appear to represent the same person because: These are the same man. Same death date. Mary Findlay/Filley/Filby was his wife. Someone will need to do some research on her last name (It looked to me like Filby in his will but maybe Filly.
