John died in 1935 . his death was reported in the Examiner (Launceston, Tas. : 1900 - 1954) Mon 30 Sep 1935 Page 1 Family Notices:

DEATHS
SKIPPER. — On the 29th September, at the Public Hospital, Launceston, John, relict of the late Sarah Ann Skipper, of Hadspen, in his 90th year.
FUNERAL NOTICES
SKIPPER.—The funeral of the late Mr. John Skipper is appointed to leave his late residence, Hadspen, on Tuesday afternoon, 1st October, at 3.30 o'clock, for interment in the Church of England Cemetery, Hadspen. Friends are invited to attend. —C. T. FINNEY, Funeral Director, 16 Brisbane-street.

He was buried at the Church Of The Good Shepherd, Hadspen, Meander Valley Council, Tasmania, Australia with his wife, Sarah. Their gravestone reads:
