Thankful Slade died on October 21, 1840 at age 69." referencing Thomas Bellows Peck, William Slade of Windsor, Conn & His Descendants 1910, , page 26.
Research Notes
I haven't yet found a clear Thankful married --?-- Allyn, then married --?-- Case, then married Amos Reed, There is a "Simeon Case... & Widow Thankful Allyn" marriage referenced on Allyn-789 but it's behind an Ancestry paywall so I can't see it unless I can find it somewhere else. There is no reference to Allyn in the Slade Genealogy, findagrave or the Jefferson County entry but as they all concern Amos there is no real reason why they necessarily would list his second wifes first husband when he was her third.

From what I can tell from checking on an Ancestry Family Tree, Simeon Case and his wife Violet had 7-10 children. The last child was born Jan 25, 1803 and Violet died Jan 29, 1803. He married Widow Thankful Slade Allen that same year probably to be a mother to his children. Very common, I have a great great grandmother who married a man who had 10 children. They had 3 children (2 were twins and died) but I haven't been able to determine that Thankful Slade Case ever had any children.
