Commadore, son of Joshua and Elizabeth Slone, married Lydia M Green on 5 February 1878 at Franklin County, Virginia.[3]

Commadore and his wife, Lydia Margaret, were residing in Franklin County, Virginia in 1880.[4] Residing with them were Commadore's mother Elizabeth, and his sister and brother, Nancy A. and William T. Slone.[4]

In 1900, though Lydia was listed as married and the mother of nine with all the children in her household, Commadore was not with them.[5]
