Timothy S Sloan, a confederate veteran, died at Mr. A. Cook's on Saturday. He was in his 68th year and was a Pvt. in Co. B Holcomb's Legion during the late war. Active pall bearers were veterans A. Cook, W.P. Coker, R.T. Newman, B.R. Pollard, M.B.Roberts, and W.M. Waddel. The funeral and burial were at Cedar Grove Baptist Church. The veteran leaves a wife, two daughters and two sons.

Death of a Veteran. Cedar Grove, S. C., July 22. -- Timothy S. Sloan, a Confederate veteran, died of typhoid dysentery at his home near this place Saturday. Veteran Sloan had reached 68 years of age. He had been a member of the Baptist Church for more than twenty'five years. He was a private during the war in Co. B, Holcomb Legion. His remains were taken in charge by his comrades-in arms, the active pall bearers being Veterans A. Cook, W. P. Coker, R. T. Newman, B. R. Pollard, M. B. Roberts and W. M. Waddle. -- Spartanburg Journal.
