Samuel Small was born on August 20, 1746 in Truro, Barnstable, Massachusetts Bay Colony, son of Samuel Small (1714–>1761) and Hannah Gross (1725– ).^[1]

Samuel married Sarah Newcomb (born on September 8, 1755 in Provincetown, Barnstable). Their children were:
