DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships with Harriet by comparing test results with other carriers of her mitochondrial DNA.
However, there are no known mtDNA test-takers in her direct maternal line.
It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with Harriet:
Small-2448 and Small-797 appear to represent the same person because: I agree that it looks like these two entries are the same Harriet Small.
As the crow flies, Gran Manan Island, NB, Canada, and Eastport, ME, are fairly close together. Somehow it would be nice to resolve which was the birth place.
Small-2448 and Small-797 are not ready to be merged because: Small-2448 does not have a lot of information entered for her yet to be sure about the match to Small-797. I do not have documentation on Harriet's birth place. The family history I received from my grandmother, who was one of Harriet's granddaughters, only notes that Harriet and James were married on Grand Manan Island. I suggest that we hold off on the merge until after we have some research on this lady's birth date.
PS: I am the greenest of genealogists, so I may be way off base here.
