Biography

Gertrude DeWees Smith was the daughter of William Harrison Smith (1847–1908) and Diantha Bean (1847–1933), born on 14 Jan 1879 and raised in Delaware, Delaware County, Ohio. Gertrude married Clement Carl Callin on 15 Feb 1905 in Delaware County, Ohio.[1][2][3][4][5]

Not long after they married, Clement took a job as an observer with the Weather Service, and they lived in Syracuse, Onondaga County, New York, in 1910. A few years later, they moved to Trenton, Mercer County, New Jersey. By 1922, Clement took a position as a principal of schools in Morrisville, Bucks County, Pennsylvania, just across the river from Trenton. Gertrude was a music teacher. After 1930, Clement and Gertrude mainly resided in Morrisville.[6][7][8][9][10][11]

Clement died on 29 Nov 1944 at age 67 in Morrisville, Bucks County, Pennsylvania, and was buried in Oak Grove Cemetery in Delaware, Delaware County, Ohio.[12][13][14][15][16]

Gertrude died on 25 Nov 1955 at age 76 in Morrisville, Bucks County, Pennsylvania, and was buried with her husband in Delaware, Delaware County, Ohio.[17][18]
