John died intestate in Watertown sometime prior to 25 February 1717/8, son-in-law Thomas Mead was appointed to administer John's estate. The estate records mention sons John and Samuel and sons-in-law Joseph Locke, John Winter, Thomas Mead and John Pearce.[11]
