Jesse and Sarah were married November 13, 1796 in Henry County, VA. Abraham (son) was born in Virginia in 1797. They moved to Maury County, Tennessee and lived at Leiper's Lick Creek. Born to them were four boys and four girls. Jesse served in the War of 1812 was drafted at the age of 37 in in November, 1814. He served in the Battle of New Orleans where he contracted the Measles. Waiting for transport to his home in Maury Co., TN, he died in Baton Rouge, LA, March 19, 1815 and was buried there. After his death Sarah never remarried and took her seven children to Perry County, TN where her eldest son Abraham had a farm. Sarah received pension benefits. She stayed in Perry County over 30 years and moved to Madison County, TN in 1856 with her son David where she died in 1868 at the age of 91.
