Iva Pearl Smith Johnson's Memorial from funeral service:
Iva Pearl Johnson, daughter of Edward and Grace Goodson Smith, was born September 9, 1913, near Morgan, Missouri. She departed this life Sunday, August 10, 2003 in Breech Regional Medical Center in Lebanon, Missouri, at the age of eighty-nine years, eleven months and one day.
In 1931, she was united in marriage to Harry Johnson and to this union, four daughters and three sons were born.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Harry Johnson; three sons, Ronald D. Johnson, Paul E. Johnson and Dale Johnson; one grandson, Richard Johnson; two brothers, Frank Smith and Arthur Smith; and one sister, Ethel Tooley.
Iva is survived by three daughters, Nellie Lawson, of Conway, Missouri, Erma Lee Marlin, of Englewood, California, and Karen Chiappelli and her husband, Jim of Avandale, Arizona; one son, Roy W. Johnson and his wife, Betty, of Yreka, California; seventeen grandchildren, seventeen great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews, as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
She was born and raised in the Morgan community. After she and Harry were married, they made their home in the Morgan Community for several years, then moved to California. After his passing and her health began to fail, she moved back to Conway, Missouri to be near her daughters.
Iva had made her profession of faith in Christ and was an instrumental part in the founding of the Conway Assembly of God Church where she was also a Sunday School teacher.
She enjoyed working in her garden where she grew beautiful flowers. She centered her life around her family and especially loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Iva was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and was a caring neighbor and friend. She will be fondly remembered and greatly missed by all those above and by all those who knew and loved her.
Services were Thursday, August 14, 2003 at 11:00 a.m. at the Holman-Howe Chapel with the Rev. Elvin Bohannon officiating. Recorded songs were " Amazing Grace" and "In the Garden". She was buried at the Builderback Cemetery. Escorts were James Jones, Dale Lewis, Christopher Smith, Gregory Lawson, Tim Chiappelli and Steven Smith.
