Can anyone explain the source for listing William Smith, Jr and Anne Sterling as William Smith's parents? An older cousin and I are have a friendly debate. She insists that the Price book (The Sydney-Smith and Clagett-Price Genealogy) makes the definite case that Philip Smythe and Mary Porter are his parents. I've found too many inconsistencies in that book to support her view. Can anyone help? Thanks!!!

Smith-191826 and Smith-18880 appear to represent the same person because: Same father, same wife, same death details. Discrepancy in birth date. Thanks for reviewing.
