George Smith surety for £50 on 10 June, 1820. On 8 June, 1820, James Smith, Rebecca's father, gave leave that Daniel Stockton might get license to marry Rebecca, witnessed by George Smith. Information from Carole Black, Chandler, AZ and National Archives. National Archives record 34,149, Service Pension, War of 1812. Rebecca Stockton, widow of Daniel, applied for pension 15 June, 1878. Awarded .00 per month 15 Feb.,1879. Family tradition has it that some of the children of Hiram and Lucretia Stockton learned to count in German from "Grandma Becky".
FAMILY: By 1850 Rebecca was a widow and living with her children in Clinton Co., KY. In 1860 Rebecca and her children, both legitimate and otherwise, were living in Clinton Co., KY. In 1870 Rebecca was living in Clinton Co., KY. In 1880 she was living with her daughter, Elvira Jane, and son-in-law in Albany, Clinton Co., KY

Affidavit for Widow's Pension: The affiant, John Irwin, states that he resides in Clinton County, KY and is 90 years of age. He was well acquainted with Daniel Stockton and Rebecca Stockton his wife, now his widow. Affiant states that he was a private in Capt. William Wood's Company, Col. James Wilson's regiment in the War of 1812. He states that Daniel Stockton was a private in the said company; he states that said company started from then Cumberland county, KY about the 22 Aug 1813 and was afterwards mustered into the service at Cincinnati, OH; he states that he and said Daniel Stockton started with said company and were mustered into the service and were in the service about 3 months; he further states that he knew said Rebecca as a single woman and some time after the war he heard and it was reputed that said Daniel and Rebecca were married and after that he knows that they lived together as husband and wife until said Daniel's death which occurred many years ago - he don't remember the date.
