Biography
Robert Alder Smith was born 1818 in Windsor, Hants County, Nova Scotia. He married Elizabeth "Eliza" Brown(Bruin) Comingo (also used surname Beckwith after her step-father) August 23, 1842. His marriage bond was dated August 23, 1842. Reverend Joseph Dimock performed the nuptials. The bond was signed by Langshaw Clarke who was a Merchant in Chester and by Robert.
Took over the Blacksmith shop of Warden Beckwith around 1840. According to his son Charles Marriage Registration, his Father Robert was a Mechanic.
Robert died in 1896 and was buried in the Old Burial Ground founded in 1761, Chester, Lunenburg County, Nova Scotia.
