1874 Arrived with parents and siblings on "Southern Belle" in Brisbane. Left for Sydney shortly afterwards with mother & some siblings. At this time the Smith women were working as domestic servants and hotel housekeepers. This allowed her to meet & marry David Rees Williams who was then a hotel porter in The Royal Hotel George St, Sydney city.
1877 At her marriage Susan was working as a domestic servant in a home in Campbell Place off Riley Street, Woolloomooloo. Sydney City 1887
1880 David was the proprietor of several successive Woolloomooloo hotels, employing Smith family members.
1890 Agnes Mayger & her son had accompanied George McCulloch to England leaving James Mayger with a grocery shop & residence above in Union St Newtown which he shared with David & Susan Rees-Williams and children.
WILLIAMS -October 30, 1892, Susan Rees Williams, died of consumption at her sister Harriett's residence, 144 Woolloomooloo-street.
Death aged 33 at 144 Woolloomoloo St Woolloomoloo ( now Cathedral St ) home of her sister Harriett Hall & Thomas Hall. Cause of death; Consumption (TB), a disease of the poor & malnourished, as do her sisters over time.
