Abijah married Abia Smith and together they had our William Henry Lee and 6 other children, all born in Middletown, Middlesex Co., CT:

• Mary Lee was born on 17 Dec 1760; married Samuel Clark on 14 Mar 1779; died on 12 Jul 1844 in Elba Twp., Genesee Co., NY and was buried in Jul 1844 in Pine Hill Cemetery, Elba Twp., • Ame Lee 14 was born on 13 Jan 1753 Hannah Lee 6 was born on 12 Nov 1754 in Middletown, Middlesex Co., CT and died in 1837. • Lemuel Lee (the namesake of his grandfather) was born on 30 Aug 1755 in Middletown, • Abner Lee was born on 20 Feb 1759 in Middletown, Middlesex Co., CT. • William Henry Lee 14 was born on 22 Oct 1762 in Middletown, Middlesex Co., CT • Abijah Lee, Jr. was born on 20 Aug 1764 in Middletown, Middlesex Co., CT and was buried on 30 Jul 1806 in Onodaga Co., NY. • Lucretia Lee 6 was born on 4 Jun 1766 in Middletown, Middlesex Co., CT.

Abia Smith was the child of Jonathan Smith III & Dorothy Bailey; She married Abijah about April 12, 1752 - 28 May 1752 in 2ND Congregational Church of Middle Haddam (Chatham) by the Reverend Benjamin Bowers, the first pastor of that church. He was regarded as an earnest capable and pious preacher. Rev. Benjamin was the son of Captain Jonathan Bowers was born in Billerica March 7, 1713. He graduated at Harvard College in the class of 1733 and was ordained at Middle Haddam Connecticut in September 1740, and died there in 1761.
