He had regularly and faithfully supplied this town with fresh provision. He had in the morning furnished the most of his customers, when stopping at the house of Mr. Jonathan Foster, he had been but a few moments sitting in conversation with some friends, when his head fell back on the chair, and his life expired instantaneously, without a struggle or groan. His departure is a public loss in this community.

His son, Ezekiel, for a time, lived upon the paternal farm, and was succeeded by his son, Daniel, who occupied the homestead for a time, but before his death became the owner of the Benjamin Shedd form, upon which one of his daughters now resides.
