He had in the morning furnished the most of his customers, when stopping at the house of Mr. Jonathan Foster, he had been but a few moments sitting in conversation with some friends, when his head fell back on the chair, and his life expired instantaneously, without a struggle or groan. His departure is a public loss in this community.

His son, Ezekiel, for a time, lived upon the paternal farm, and was succeeded by his son, Daniel, who occupied the homestead for a time, but before his death became the owner of the Benjamin Shedd form, upon which one of his daughters now resides.
