She was noted as born March 1873 in Texas and had been married six years. She was the mother of three children of which two were still living as seen in an image of the original census. Also included in the household are head G L Gillespie, son Oreta Gillespie and daughter Lorta Gillespie.^[1]

Lucinda Elizabeth Smith was listed as the mother of Viola Venita Gillespie who was born October 15, 1904 in Pittsburg, Camp County, Texas. The father was listed as Groves Lowry Gillespie.^[2]

Lucindy E Gillespie was enumerated as wife of the head of household at Simpsonville Street, Pittsburg, Camp County, Texas for the April 28, United States Census, 1910.
