Biography

When Alice Valentine Smith was born on February 15, 1909, in Taylor, Texas, her father, Jasper Newton Smith, was 58 and her mother, Mary Fanata Chrane, was 21. She had one daughter with Otis Wesley Splawn on January 12, 1930. She died as a young mother on January 2, 1936, in Callahan, Texas, at the age of 26, and was buried there.

  1. 1910 Census: Alice Smith was 1 year old and lived in Taylor, Texas with her father, mother, and sister.
  2. 1920 Census: Alice Smith was 10 years old and lived in Tahoka, Texas with her Uncle Hezekiah C Smith and his family
  3. 1930 Census: Alice Splawn was 20 years old and lived in Slaton, Texas with her husband, and new daughter.
