Enzena wrote the book Duty First. Enzena spent a lot of time at the home of her grandparents William T. (Pap) and Lydia Templeton. William and Lydia shared with Enzena the family history. Enzena documented this family oral history into Duty First.
Duty First documents the struggles of life for the Templeton family in White Co. TN during the Civil War. Enzena dedicated the book to her father and mother. They bore the brunt of war (Civil War) and left the priceless heritage of a good name.
Enzena, her husband, who was a bank president, and their children once lived in Coffee Co. TN and Franklin Co. TN. Her last year at Howard College was in 1894. Enzena must have been a very intelligent woman! She is buried in Highland Cemetery in Sparta, White Co., TN.
